On February 14, 2023, Kirin Capital Vietnam was honored to welcome Mr. Hoang Viet Tien, Deputy General Secretary and Chief of Office of Vietnam Digital Communications Association (VDCA), to visit and work with us on the development of the gaming industry in Vietnam.
During the session, the two parties discussed Kirin’s investment in Vietnam industries, particularly the gaming industry, and agreed that this is a suitable time to invest in Vietnam.
According to the Ministry of Information and Communications statistics, Vietnam’s gaming industry is currently thriving with the participation of many game producers and publishers. In 2021, there are 28.4 million people playing games in Vietnam, generating more than $665 million in revenue; 50% of the most played mobile games originate from Vietnam; 5 of the top 10 game studios in Asia – Pacific and Australia are from Vietnam; 1/25 games downloaded from app stores are from Vietnam…, demonstrating the domestic market’s potential.
Vietnam’s gaming industry is currently experiencing rapid growth. As a result, the demand for capital for the expansion and development of Vietnamese game publishers and producers is also increasing. Thus, Kirin Capital Vietnam established the Vietnam Game Industry Development Investment Fund to address this need, providing businesses with industry insight and a network of foreign financial investors, assisting game developers in realizing their dream.
At the end of the session, the Vietnam Digital Communications Association expressed its willingness to support Kirin Capital in connecting and cooperating with other Vietnamese game companies, hence promoting the sustainable development of the country’s gaming industry.
