On May 22, 2023, Jiangsu Mingtong Information Technology Co., Ltd., a Chinese company, had a working session at Kirin Capital’s office to explore investment opportunities in the Vietnamese gaming industry.
The meeting was attended by Mr. Qin Qian, founder and CEO of Jiangsu Mingtong, along with the company’s delegation, as well as Mr. Simon Yu, the Director of Kirin Capital’s Game Investment Fund, and other fund members.
During the meeting, Kirin Capital and Jiangsu Mingtong had the opportunity to learn more about each other. Jiangsu Mingtong is a company engaged in the production and distribution of online games, established in 2009 in Guangzhou, China. With continuous efforts, the company has experienced rapid growth over the years and is currently developing as a conglomerate. Jiangsu Mingtong has also received several accolades, such as “National High-Tech Enterprise,” “National Key Cultural Export Enterprise,” and “Cultural Key Technology Enterprise in Guangdong Province.” The company’s products, including renowned IP titles such as MU, RO, Luna, Moxiang, Hope OL, and other games, generate monthly revenues exceeding 10 million CNY. These products have been exported to various countries and regions, including South Korea, Singapore, Malaysia, Russia, Thailand, Vietnam, Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan, with a cumulative foreign exchange value exceeding 25 million US dollars.
Furthermore, Jiangsu Mingtong has developed and launched the 8090 online gaming platform, featuring over 100 products, including web games, mobile games, and H5 games. Currently, the platform boasts more than 50 million users and generates monthly revenues exceeding 10 million CNY.
In the discussion, both parties also analyzed the Vietnamese gaming market and proposed optimal operational solutions for game products in Vietnam and China. Additionally, they expressed a particular interest in the H5 game platform (or HTML5 – HyperText Markup Language) and recognized it as a significant trend in the gaming industry in the near future. With H5 games, players can synchronize their game progress and play across different devices without encountering any barriers.
Through this sharing session, Kirin Capital and Jiangsu Mingtong have established certain directions for investment cooperation and the development of the H5 gaming platform in the Vietnamese market. The two sides also aim to connect high-quality products that are popular among users in China to the Vietnamese market.
